About us

Who is GYMP?

Creation and production of the GYMP brand is in the hands of the Belgian fashion company 'Anckaert Confectie NV' (Anckaert Clothing Manufacture PLC), a family firm run by three brothers and a sister. Geert, Jo (pronounced 'Yo'), Marianne and Pol Anckaert (thus GYMP) The roots go back to the 1960s. Their parents expanded the Grandmother's one person embroidery business into a fully-fledged fabric manufacturer, specialised in cradle and bed linen. In the course of time baby clothes were introduced to the range, followed by children's clothing In the 1980s, stimulated by the third generation, the company chose to create a high quality collection under the brand name 'Anne K'. Since then, focus has been on boutiques and specialised retail business. In 2000, the 'Anne K' brand transformed into 'GYMP'. From that time, Anckaert Confectie grew into the thriving SME that it is today, with around 25 employees in Waregem providing work for number of ateliers in Tunisia, and currently supplying more than 400 retail clients throughout Europe.
